What we use instead
- Theme preference. Your light/dark mode choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and is not a cookie.
- Cookieless statistics. Pageviews are counted by GoatCounter, which by design works without cookies and without following you across websites.
- Server-side measurement. Our own analytics run on the server and store no cookies and no personal identifiers. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Third-party content
Articles on this site do not embed third-party players that set cookies. Where an article references a YouTube video, we show a preview image and link out; cookies from YouTube only come into play on YouTube's own site, under Google's policies.
If this ever changes
Should this site ever need a cookie, this page will list it by name, with its purpose and lifetime, before it is used, and consent will be asked where the law requires it.
